Tell Me Lies Concert - Winchester, VA
I went to a Tell Me Lies concert at the Monument in Winchester, VA not long ago. Tell Me Lies is a Fleetwood Mac Tribute band. The Monument is a concert venue in downtown Winchester. There was an opening band before the headlining group. The whole thing lasted about three hours. Most people stood in the main floor in front of the stage. There was a lot of fun and some dancing.
Quality of Entertainment
I enjoyed the performances at this concert. Tell Me Lies gave a fun performance of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks music. I really enjoyed when the folks at the keyboard sang lead. The sound was at an enjoyable level and the lighting was pretty good. The front gal was dressed in flowy clothes and danced around to be like Stevie Nicks which was pretty fun. I think my favorite songs of the evening were Landslide and The Chain.
Who Goes Here?
This event was primarily attended by older/middle-aged couples with a smattering of college age people.
Venue
The venue was really cool! The Monument is as old historic bank with the vault and all that has been converted into an event venue. They have a disco ball and fun modern colored lights juxtaposed on the historic architecture. It has a main floor and a balcony second floor. They really needed more trashcans though! Also, this concert had seating in the balcony and around the edges of the floor but it filled up an hour before the concert started. So, if you don’t want to stand get there really early. It’s a nice intimate concert venue where you are pretty close to the performers and can see well.
Organization & Cleanliness
The event was well organized. They checked ID’s and tickets at the door. Then attendees could find a spot to sit or stand. The bathrooms were very nice and clean.
Refreshments
There were bars available on both floors where you could buy drinks. They had a limited selection but it included one of anything you might want. Additionally, you could order some basic bar food. I believe the food was catered from the restaurant next door.
Venue Overall
Overall, The Monument was a very cool and unique venue. It is a very interesting combination of really old colonial architecture and fun modern décor/lighting. They provided a nice selection of food and drinks and had good facilities.
Location
It is right downtown in the Winchester historic walking mall. There is parking in a garage near the walking mall.
