Complimentary chips, salsa, and white sauce are served with you meal. The chips are your standard yellow corn tortilla chips. The salsa is a mild bland salsa that is not chunky, with no cilantro. The white sauce is a unique recipe to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. White sauce is a ranch-based sauce with additional seasonings like garlic. Of the two, the white sauce is more flavorful and has some heat to it.

Dinner combination 25 includes one burrito, one enchilada, and a side of rice and beans. I ordered the dinner with chicken. I noticed the chicken was cubed. The burrito is made with a flour tortilla and is slightly larger, while the enchilada has a corn tortilla. Both are smothered in enchilada sauce and cheese. Also, the beans and rice are pleasant and nicely cooked but very mild and somewhat bland. I added a guacamole and sour cream salad. I think the salad added a lot of flavor with cilantro and guacamole and it complimented the savory dish well. Overall, I think the meal was a good serving size, filling, and pleasant, but a bit bland.

Rancho Grande offers affordable Mexican food. They have a variety of specialty dinners as well as “combination” meals. The combination meals are various combinations of classic items and sides: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chile relleno, rice, and beans. Overall, I found the serving sizes to be large and the food tasty, and filling but mild. Also, it is also great that they provide complimentary chips and salsa.

The service at Rancho Grande is good. They were friendly and worked efficiently. Everything was brought out accurately and quickly.

Meanwhile, the only drawback is the food being a little bland and mild, though its still enjoyable. Moreover, the prices are very affordable. Overall, you get good bang for your buck and Rancho Grande.
