What I Ordered
Side Salad
free
A side salad comes with the entrees. This side salad is HUGE. It includes lettuce, cucumber, tomato, olives onions, and pepperoncino peppers with a house Italian dressing. The veggies were a bit larger chop than I prefer so they needed cute down a bit, but they tasted good. They do not skimp you on the toppings. It is a simple but large and effective house salad.
Bread Sticks
free
Fresh breadsticks come with your order as well. They are so good! They are fresh made in house with a light garlic salt seasoning. The breadsticks are about 4-4inch long and are basically a homemade better version of the olive garden breadsticks. Also, free refills!
Chicken Verde
$24.50
The Chicken Verde entrée is a blackened chicken breast smothered in alfredo, cheese and artichokes over a bed of mashed potatoes. It tastes like if chicken parm and spinach artichoke dip had a baby. This meal is very large, hearty, and filling but the veggies help lighten it up. The garlic mashed potatoes could have used more garlic though. They also grate fresh Parmesan Cheese over your food at the table.
Cinnabon Cheesecake
$8
The Cinnabon Cheesecake is a thick slice of cheesecake with a thin layer of cinnamon roll on top. It was a pretty dense, enjoyable dessert but it could have benefited from an extra drizzle of cinnamon sugar to take it to the next level. I think it would have paired well with a cup of coffee or tea. (I got mine to go)
Overall Food
Overall, I enjoyed my meal at the Olive Tree. They have a large selection of pasta, pizza, paninis, and seafood with large servings. I liked that the meals come with freshly made salad and breadsticks. Additionally, they have a large wine and cocktail selection available.
Service
The service at Olive Tree was quite good. The server was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. He also offered detailed recommendations catered to my preferences.
Atmosphere
Size
It is large with full bar seating as well as about 30 tables.
Who Goes Here?
The customers were a combination of couples on dates, families, and groups of coworkers.
Overall Atmosphere
The atmosphere of Olive Tree is clean, fresh, elevated, yet comfortable. They have very nice traditional feature like molding and coffer ceilings faired with rustic-industrial lighting and décor. It’s very clean and looks recently renovated. There are several different dining rooms that make it more cozy and private feeling. The lighting is at a nice level and the tables are comfortably spaced out. The Olive Tree is classy enough for a date night but also comfortable enough for a family outing.
Location
The Olive Tree in Aberdeen, MD is located in the main shopping district of town near many other shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, it is pretty difficult to access. You have to be driving a certain direction down the street to be able to pull in because of a median. Also, the parking is quite small and tight. They are very busy so parking overflows into neighboring businesses lots.
