I opted to create a bowl. I selected to include basmati rice, lamb and chicken shawarma, spicy hummus, cucumber, tabouleh, pickled cabbage, pickled turnips, pickles, feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, and spicy garlic sauce. It is a very large serving. Everything was fresh and had great flavor. I liked the chicken and the lamb equally. They were both delicious. It was a wonderful mix of savory, starchy, and acidity. I do wish I asked for more tzatziki sauce, because it was fantastic.
Baklava

The baklava was alright. It consists of phyllo dough, pistachios, and honey. The flavor was good but this was quite dry and crunchy. Additionally, I though the serving size was rather small.
Overall Food
Overall, I really enjoyed the food at Hummus Mediterranean Grill. The create your bowl experience had a wonderful, diverse selection of meats, veggies, and sauces. Everything was fresh and tasty. I also found my bowl visually had a beautiful assortment of colors and textures so it was very appetizing to look at.

Overall, the service at Hummus Mediterranean Grill was pretty good. The only service experience is ordering you food and paying at the counter. The staff were very friendly but they seemed to have trouble hearing across the counter.

Hummus Mediterranean Grill has a small storefront. It is laid out almost identically to a chipotle. You go up to the counter and order a bowl/wrap, pick rice or greens, pick a meat, then pick toppings and sauces. You pay at the register at the end of the counter. The dining area is small, simple, and a bit shabby. Most people order their food to go.

Hummus Mediterranean Grill in Hagerstown, MD is in an okay location. It is close to several hotels and the interstate. Also, it is in a little strip mall with parking available. It is not a very attractive location and there are not many other shops nearby.

I think Hummus Mediterranean Grill is a great value for your money. The food was delicious and highly customizable. Also, the serving sizes are huge! Lastly, the prices are very affordable. A bowl which is potentially enough for two meals is only $12. I definitely think you get your money’s worth.
