Mixed Vegetables Chicken

The mixed vegetables chicken was your usual mixed vegetables and chicken in a soy sauce based sauce. It was a very large serving and came with a side of rice. Also, this dish had a wide variety of vegetables: broccoli carrots, bell peppers, bean sprouts, Bok choy, cabbage, and bean curd sheets. I thought it was a well balance dish with a combination of savory, salty, and acidity and cooked well.
Pan Seared Dumplings

The pan-fried dumplings were gyoza style pork dumplings served with a salty dipping sauce. They came out served on a fun, boat shaped dish. I though these were an enjoyable savory bite but not that impressive.
Pork Soup Dumplings

I absolutely loved the pork soup dumplings! They were small steamed dumplings filled with a pork filling and a rich savory broth. The menu does include a helpful explanation of the method for eating the soup dumplings so that they do not explode soup on you. The soup dumplings had such an amazing depth of flavor in the savory filling a broth. And they are like a textural experience with the bun, the filling and soup. It is like a bite sized flavor bomb.
Matcha Red Bean Buns

The matcha red bean buns are large sweet steamed buns. They are very attractive with the green matcha color. The matcha flavor in the bun is very light and you mostly het the earthy sweet red bean paste flavor from the filling. These make a nice, not too sweet, light dessert.
Overall Food
Overall, I really enjoyed my food at Etang Dim Sum. They offer a large menu with wide variety of dim sum offerings as well as Chinese entrees. All the flavors and textures combinations were terrific and everything appeared to be cooked perfectly. If you have two or more people dining, I would suggest ordering a variety of the dim sum items and sharing and definitely try the soup dumplings!

The service at Etang Dim Sum was quite good. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. Additionally, They checked back at a good interval.

The atmosphere in Etang Dim Sum is nice-causal with Asian flare. Everything is very clean and looks somewhat new. The décor is very attractive and simple with strong Asian influence, such as murals and light fixtures. During the day it is a casual lunch option, but I could see it being a nice spot for a date in the evenings with the lanterns creating a nice ambience.
Location
Etang Dim Sum is in a good location in downtown Savannah, GA. They are within walking distance to City Market and River Street with many shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Additionally, there is not much parking available besides garages, but it is right off of the free trolley route. Overall, it is a very historic and walkable area.

I think Etang Dim Sum is a good value for your money. They offer delicious food and an enjoyable dining experience at fair, somewhat high prices. It is lighter fare but I think it is worth it.

Also, I was impressed by the good service and lovely atmosphere during my experience. For me, the pork soup dumplings were the showstopper.
