I did find their service lacking and the storefront is simple but it is comfortable. Also, they have good portions and tasty food at reasonable prices.

The Howling Cow is an ice cream parlor at the NC Sate dairy farm. They offer freshly made ice cream in a variety of flavors. They have a wrap around porch with a great view of the farm.
Your Pie is a pizza place in Blacksburg, VA near Virginia Tech. It is a very clean modern establishment offering pizza, pasta, and gelato. The service was not the best but the food was great.
The Milk Parlor is a quirky dive bar in Blacksburg, VA. They offer live events like live music and dancing a block from Virginia Tech. You can find them under the beautiful mural on Draper Street. They offer a full bar, a hard milkshake menu, a white Russian menu, and bar food.
Bollo’s Café & Bakery is a coffeeshop in downtown Blacksburg, VA. It is walking distance from Virginia Tech. Also, it offers a lively, cozy atmosphere, good service, and great food. Their tea selection is incredible and their prices are very affordable.
This week I tried out Pizza Twist in Winchester, VA. They offer traditional pizzas, as well as Indian Fusion Pizzas, and Halal Pizzas. I wanted to try their unique offerings so I opted for the Indian Fusions Masala fries and pizza. I opted for takeout so I did not experience their storefront, though I know they are new establishment.
Brickhouse Diner is a mid-size diner in a shopping center in Virginia Beach, VA. They offer an extensive breakfast menu. I found the service and atmosphere to be very good. However, the food was mediocre.
This week I visited IJ Canns American Grill in Winchester, VA for a classic American dinner. They have a very spacious and comfortable, yet classy dining experience. The food is tasty, filling, and generously portioned. IJ Canns is a good spot to grab a nice meal with American staples.
This week I attended the world premiere of Grounded at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Grounded was an avant-garde, modern opera about the military and its psychological impact on a female fighter/drone pilot. I found it was quite provocative and not for everyone. However, the Kennedy Center was spectacular and I can’t wait to return for another performance.
