Apple Blossom Carnival - Winchester, VA
Winchester, VA has a Carnival as part of the annual Apple Blossom Festival. There were rides, vendors, and games. A wristband for unlimited rides cost $35. I visited the carnival on Saturday evening, peak hours. It was very busy but had a lively atmosphere.
Quality of Entertainment
There were quite a few rides at the carnival. I would estimate about 20. I noticed they were all spinning rides that were fairly similar. They had a good number of rides but not good variety. Most of them seamed well maintained. However, two of them the hydraulics were incredibly loud. They had a good-sized Ferris wheel. The duration of the rides was quite short. The waiting in line to riding ratio was quite high. Also, there were also a lot of carnival games where you could try your hand at winning a stuffed animal. There was a caricature artist in one section. Additionally, there were good number of food vendors throughout. Overall, I think the price was a bit high for the value. I think at a nonpeak time you may be able to getter better value from your tickets.
Who Goes Here?
This fair primarily had families, teens, and young adults.

Organization & Cleanliness
The carnival had plenty of trashcan throughout. However, there were almost no places to sit down and eat or rest. Overall, I would not say it was clean, but what carnival is? The lines were very long and disorganized. They could have benefited from designated areas for the lines.
Refreshments
There were several fair food vendors including lemonade, funnel cakes, elephant ears, chicken on a stick, corndogs, gyros, and more. The serving sizes at the vendors were large and everything was deep friend and tasty. Your classic fair food, but definitely not diet food!
Venue Overall
Overall, it was well set up, but it was quite disorganized and congested at peak hours. There were lots of treats and fair foods available. The carnival had a classic carnival atmosphere. I would recommend going when it is not as busy.
Location
The carnival is honestly in a strange location. It is behind a pretty vacant shopping center in Winchester, VA. It does have a very large parking lot and it is an open area large enough for the carnival though. There are several restaurants and gas stations within a block of the location. It is not very close to downtown Winchester.
