The Nashville Hot Chicken Benny is a cross between a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and an eggs benedict. It consists of seasoned fried chicken, pickles, and a poached egg on a bun covered in hollandaise. I though the Nashville hot chicken had a very good flavor but was not spicy. Also, the poached eggs and chicken were very savory but the pickles and hollandaise complimented with a nice tang and acidity. The eggs benedict was served with a side of house potatoes. I thought the potatoes were nicely seasoned and crispy but not greasy.

Overall, the food at Eggspectation was tasty and they offer interesting unique menu items. They seem to emphasize the breakfast/brunch offerings but they do have dinner options as well, such as burgers, salads, and pastas. Also, the serving sizes were good. However, I though they prices were high considering what you are getting.

Eggspectation is a very hip chic brunch spot. The appear to be relatively new and everything is very clean. The décor is a cross between farmhouse and industrial with a lot of wood and metal. There is a lot of natural light from the large windows. Additionally, the bar area has TVs available. It looks like it could be a nice place to get drinks in the evening as well.

Eggspectation in Richmond, VA is located in the Stony Point fashion park, which is essentially a nice shopping mall. There are many nice shops and restaurants within walking distance. Additionally, there is plenty of parking available.

I think Eggspectation is a moderate value for your money. The food is good and filling, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is good. However, they are asking fine dining prices for classy casual style dining. Consequently, I think it is a nice restaurant but overpriced.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Eggspectation. The food was tasty and I like the creative concept of a Nashville hot chicken eggs benedict. Additionally, the atmosphere and service were very pleasant. However, I thought the food was pretty overpriced. If you go to Eggspectation I suggest taking advantage of one of their daily specials or happy hour to make your visit more affordable.
