What I Ordered

Spicy Garlic Stir-Fry

3/5

$15.40

The spicy garlic stir-fry has whole-wheat noodles, spicy garlic sauce, roasted chicken, bell pepper, broccoli, green beans, fresh parsley and pineapple. Honestly, I did not like the fresh parsley in this dish. It was EXTREMELY overpowering and did not mix well with the other flavors in the dish, especially the pineapple. I would suggest opting for no parsley. Additionally, I think adding sauce like siracha would have brought some additional heat and flavor because it is not spicy and on the bland side. Moreover, I though the veggies were fresh and nicely steamed and the serving size was quite large.

Key Lime Cheesecake Honeybar

3.5/5

$9.30

The “honeybars” on the menu are essentially dessert parfaits. The Key Lime Cheesecake Honeybar had a cheesecake filling with an assortment of fresh berries and topped with fresh whipped cream. I did enjoy the fresh berries and whipped cream, however I found it did not taste like key lime pie it was more of a berry cheesecake flavor. Though it was a bit mislabeled it was overall quite tasty.

Overall Food

3/5

Honeygrow is a nice but casual spot to get salads, stir-fry’s, and parfaits. They have a focus on fresh local ingredients, healthy choices, and vegan/vegetarian options I like the concept and mostly enjoyed the food, however I think I would try a different stir-fry the next time or customize it.

Service

4/5

The service experience at Honeygrow is very limited. You order and pay at a kiosk at the front of the store. You can see the staff and the kitchen preparing you food and they seemed very efficient and professional. They call your name when your food is ready and you pick it up at the end of the counter.

Overall Atmosphere

4/5

The atmosphere at Honeygrow is clean, crisp, and casual. It is a similar experience to a chipotle or cava with simple modern tables and limited décor. There is a large mural on the front wall and other walls had information about where their ingredients are sourced from. It is a very bright dining room with a lot of natural light and white walls.

Value for money

3/5

I think Honeygrow offers fair value for your money.  They are expensive for what you are getting, but they do offer fresh, local, healthy ingredients. Additionally, their serving sizes are relatively large and filling. I think you are paying a premium for the trendy style and vegan/vegetarian local ingredients focus.

Overall

3.5/5

Overall, Honeygrow in Hunt Valley, MD is a trendy, casual spot to get salads, stir-fry’s, and fancy parfaits.  They are pretty tasty and sport local fresh ingredients, however they are pretty pricey. I think Honeygrow is a similar casual lunch/dinner atmosphere to places like Chipotle and Cava.
