What I Ordered

Peachtree Plate

5/5

$15

The Peachtree Plate consists of two eggs, a biscuit, two slices of maple brown sugar bacon, pimento grits and fried green tomatoes. It is a hearty homage to southern cuisine. Also, I strongly suggest opting for poached eggs and adding a side of gravy for $4. With the addition of gravy, you can create another wonderful menu item they offer, the biscuits and gravy eggs benedict. To do this split the biscuit in half and put one poached egg on each half, then smother with the gravy. It is delicious! This is an affordable way to combine two of their best menu offerings into one meal. Also, the fried green tomatoes are pleasant with a crisp texture and nice flavor to the batter and a sweet and sour flavor to tomatoes.

Additionally, my favorite items in this meal are the bacon and the pimento grits. The bacon is thick cut and coated in maple brown sugar. This is honestly my favorite bacon I have had in life; it is a perfect marrying of savory and sweet with a wonderful firm, slightly crunchy texture. Be aware that if you order another meal or a side of bacon, they will bring out normal bacon. I have only seen this fancy bacon as part of the Peachtree Plate. Moreover, the pimento grits are my favorite grits of all time. They have the perfect grits texture, nice and creamy, with an immense depth of flavor from the pimento cheese and spices. Overall, I absolutely love this meal and highly recommend it to everyone.

Peaches and Cream Latte

4.5/5

$6

The peaches and cream latte was one of the special café offering of the day during my visit. Each day they have a small selection of unique coffees and lattes. It was iced coffee with cream and a bright fresh peach syrup. I though it was a very creamy, fresh pleasant drink with a light, fruity sweetness. I’m not normally a coffee drinker and I still thought it was a nice drink.

Overall Food

5/5

Overall, I enjoyed all of my food at West Egg. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The tastes and textures were phenomenal. They had classic breakfast offering with fun twists and southern staples. I though the café beverage offerings were quite good as well. They also have the option to order café drinks in the front while you wait to be seated. The menu on the whole is quite concise, so you can tell they go for quality over quantity. West Egg has the best brunch food I have ever had and I highly recommend it.

Service

3.5/5

Overall, the service at West Egg was pretty good. The staff were very friendly and brought the food and drinks out efficiently. However, there was a mix up initially where we had two servers both accidentally assigned to us so it was a bit confusing. Additionally, it was a bit unclear at the end of the meal whether we were supposed to pay at the table or at the register. It turned out you could pay at the table.

Overall Atmosphere

4/5

The atmosphere at West Egg is casual with a rustic industrial chic aesthetic: metal, glass, and wood. They don’t have any décor but have wall to wall windows and mirrors on the remaining walls. The effect is a very bright and open space. The tables and chairs vary in size and are simple and sturdy. There is one massive XL table for parties. One aspect I loved about West Egg is the coffee bar being available to guest waiting to be seated. During peak brunch hours there is often a wait so it makes the experience much more enjoyable to get a drink while you wait. The waiting area it also quite comfortable with couches and a photo booth. Additionally, West Egg only serves breakfast and is only open from 8AM-4PM.

All in all, think West Egg is a great value for your money. Their prices are reasonable compared to similar nice breakfast establishments. While their food is second to none and the servings are quite generous. Additionally, they have original offerings you won’t find at other breakfast places as well as daily specials that are always changing. I think West Egg is definitely worth the price.
